👍 What we like

Cheapest live plan on our tracker is just $0.99, one of the lowest entry prices we list
Self-service refunds: uninstalled eSIMs can be refunded from your own dashboard within 30 days, without contacting support
Unusually broad payment options via Stripe, including Alipay, WeChat Pay and Amazon Pay alongside cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay
eSIM activates automatically on arrival at the destination, so installing at home before the trip does not burn validity
Multi-country and regional plans work from a single eSIM profile across 190+ destinations, with no profile switching
24/7 live chat plus WhatsApp and email support channels

👎 Worth noting

Strictly data-only: no phone number, calls or SMS on any current plan (the upcoming Global Prepaid product listed as coming soon is also data-focused, with pay-as-you-go billing)
No unlimited-data plans in the catalog we track, so heavy users must size a fixed data bucket
Each eSIM has a pre-installation validity window; if you don't scan the QR code in time, the eSIM loses its refund eligibility
Refund flexibility has hard edges: once the QR code is scanned the plan is no longer self-service refundable, and self-service refunds are capped at 2 per month

iPhoneiPhone XS / XR and newer — every iPhone 11–16, SE (2020+), incl. US models that are eSIM-only
Samsung GalaxyS20–S25 series, Note 20, Z Fold / Z Flip (all), A54 / A55 and newer A-series
Google PixelPixel 3 and newer — Pixel 6–9 series fully supported (carrier-unlocked)
iPad & tabletsCellular iPads (2019+), Galaxy Tab S9+; data plans work the same way
Other brandsMotorola Razr/Edge, Xiaomi 13+, Oppo Find, Huawei P40+ — most 2019+ flagships

Tip: open Settings and look for "Add eSIM" or "Add cellular plan" to confirm your device supports eSIM. Your phone must also be carrier-unlocked.

About co:sim

You buy directly on cosim.io — the whole flow is web-based, with no companion app in sight. Checkout runs through Stripe and accepts cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Alipay, WeChat Pay and Amazon Pay (availability varies by region, currency and device). After purchase, the eSIM QR code is stored in your co:sim account: scan it with your phone to install (ideally before departure), and the plan activates automatically when you arrive at the destination and connect to a supported network. Watch the pre-installation window — each eSIM must be installed within its validity period, and once that deadline passes an unscanned eSIM is no longer eligible for a refund. Top-ups for reloadable plans are handled from the same account dashboard where your purchased eSIMs are stored.

co:sim — quick answers

What is the cheapest co:sim plan, and how wide is its coverage?

On our live tracker, co:sim lists 1985 plans covering 191 countries, and the cheapest live plan currently costs $0.99. That entry price makes it one of the cheaper starting points we track, though the right pick depends on how much data your destination plan bundles for the price.

Are co:sim plans data-only, or can I get calls, SMS or unlimited data?

Every current co:sim plan is strictly data-only — no phone number, calls or SMS — and we track no unlimited-data plans in its catalog, so you pick a fixed data bucket sized to your trip. co:sim does advertise a second product, Global Prepaid, as coming soon: pay-as-you-go data billing across 200+ destinations, but it is also data-focused rather than a voice plan.

When does a co:sim eSIM actually start counting its validity?

You install the eSIM by scanning a QR code from your co:sim account, and the plan then activates automatically when you arrive at the destination and connect to a supported network — so installing before departure doesn't waste days. Two things to check per plan: some plans marked at checkout begin their validity immediately at purchase, and every eSIM has a pre-installation window — once it passes, an unscanned eSIM is no longer refund-eligible.

How does co:sim's self-service refund work?

If you haven't scanned the QR code yet, you can trigger a refund yourself from the "My Plans" section of your account within 30 days of purchase — no support ticket required. It's limited to 2 self-service refunds per calendar month, and installed eSIMs, used data and plans past the 30-day window need a case-by-case request via support instead. Card refunds land in 5-10 business days; Alipay and WeChat Pay in 3-7.

Which payment methods does co:sim accept?

Checkout is processed by Stripe and accepts credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay, and — unusually for a travel eSIM seller — Alipay and WeChat Pay. Availability can vary by region, currency and device, and refunds are always returned to whichever method you originally paid with.
