Any phrasing, any language — “cheap Japan data for 2 weeks”, “one plan for Spain, Italy and Greece”.

Roami, explained
What is Roami, the AI eSIM finder?
Roami is the free AI eSIM advisor built by eSIM Advice. You describe your trip in your own words — any language, any phrasing — and it answers with real, bookable travel eSIM plans from our live database of 108,124 plans across 27 providers and 223+ destinations, re-synced from provider feeds daily. Every plan card shows the coupon-applied price, data amount, validity, network generation, and a direct link to buy on the provider's own site.
How does Roami rank the eSIM plans it recommends?
Plans that fit your request are ranked by real coupon-applied price, cheapest first, with two honesty rules on top: no provider can fill more than two of the visible slots (so one budget brand can’t crowd out genuinely different options), and hard requirements you state — unlimited data, hotspot, 5G, trip length — are applied as database filters, never softened. There are no paid placements in Roami results, and commission rates play no part in ranking.
Where do Roami’s answers and prices come from?
Only from esimadvice.com’s own database. Roami never cites, scrapes, or links other websites — every plan, price, and coupon comes from our daily provider-feed sync, and the "Top pick" summary is generated strictly from those retrieved plans. If a verified coupon exists for a provider, the discounted price is what you see, with the original price struck through.
What does the intent strip (Matched, Price ceiling, Priority) mean?
That strip shows exactly how Roami understood your question before it searched: how many live plans matched, which destination(s) it detected, your trip length, any budget ceiling you set, and the priority it inferred — "Unlimited data" if you asked for unlimited, "Cheapest fit" when you gave a budget, otherwise "Best value". If the strip shows a misread (say, the wrong country), rephrase and ask again — it re-parses every question fresh.
What can I ask Roami?
Anything about travel data. Examples that work well: “best eSIM for France for 7 days”, “cheap plans for Japan under $10”, “unlimited plan for Thailand for 5 days with hotspot”, “one plan that covers Spain, Italy and Greece”, or “10GB for a month in Turkey”. You can add requirements like 5G, hotspot/tethering, a budget, or a trip length, and Roami turns each one into a real database filter.
Does Roami handle multi-country trips?
Yes. Name every country in your route and Roami searches for single plans whose coverage genuinely includes all of them, ranked cheapest first — the same engine behind our multi-country search tool. For two or three neighbouring countries a regional plan usually wins; for longer routes it may suggest comparing a global plan against separate local ones.
What does "No expiry" mean on some plans?
Some pay-as-you-go providers sell data that never expires — you buy a bundle and any unused data stays valid indefinitely instead of vanishing after 7 or 30 days. Roami treats these as valid for any trip length. They are often the best fit for short trips, occasional travellers, or as a backup line.
Is Roami free, and how does eSIM Advice make money?
Roami is completely free with no account or sign-up. Like the rest of eSIM Advice, we earn an affiliate commission when you buy through our links — that never changes which plans Roami shows or how they are ranked, and prices are identical to buying direct (often cheaper, because our exclusive coupons are pre-applied). Our methodology page documents exactly how ranking works.
Can Roami make mistakes?
The short written summary is AI-generated and can occasionally miss nuance — treat it as advice, not gospel. The plan cards themselves, however, are always real inventory queried live from our database: names, prices, data amounts, validity, and coupons are never invented by the AI. Final price, taxes, and activation terms are always confirmed on the provider’s own checkout page.
Is my question stored or shared?
Questions are processed to generate the answer and briefly cached (up to six hours) so repeated identical questions load instantly. We don’t require an account, don’t build profiles from questions, and never sell or share question text with third parties. Coupon and click tracking works the same as everywhere else on eSIM Advice — through our disclosed affiliate links.
